Florida Center for Breast Conservation uses the Elekta Synergy®, a highly advanced digital linear accelerator. Elekta Synergy® reduces the time required for radiotherapy sessions to five minutes or less while giving clinicians the ability to treat targets more aggressively than ever before.
Elekta Synergy® incorporates Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), an innovative way to deliver radiation treatments that is a significant improvement to existing advanced radiation therapy techniques.
Elekta Synergy® continuously irradiates the target area while the source of the beam rotates around the patient. Only Elekta Synergy® has the ability to perform VMAT treatments with multiple arcs, offering clinicians the ability to choose single or multiple arcs depending upon a patient’s unique treatment plan.
With Elekta Synergy®‘s VMAT technology, a treatment session typically can be conducted in five minutes or less, including true 3D imaging at the time and place of treatment. The integrated 3D visualization capabilities of Elekta Synergy® result in unmatched clinical confidence, enabling more aggressive treatment of tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
